Bridal Beauty Tips | Wedding Planning Tips and Tricks | Danielle Harris Bridal Guide

As your wedding day is fast approaching, today we have some insider tips when it comes to looking your best on the wedding day!

1. No Sudden Moves

Don't make big changes to your beauty routine in the month leading up to the wedding. Trying new products or experimenting with facials can cause skin irritation.

2. Drink lots of water

It seems like a no brainer, but when dehydrated, wrinkles and pores are more prominent and your skin appears more dull.

3. Don't spray tan!

I love a good spray tan, but even the best spray tans have a hint of orange when photographed, especially when you are standing next to the groom, family members, and the bridal party during photos. You don't want to be sticking out like a cheeto.

4. Rehearsal Dinner Don'ts

I've seen it too many times... you have family in town and you want to celebrate and have a fun time at the rehearsal dinner (and end up over doing it) Having a few too many cocktails can leave you feeling sick on the wedding day along with red eyes, dull skin, and dry chapped lips. You don't want to ruin the main event with the pre-party.

5. Laying out & Tanning

A subtle glow is totally fine, but tanning every day leading up to the wedding will cause dry skin and make you several shades darker than those around you. You also don't want to worry about tan lines or worse (a sunburn).

6. Natural Light

Make sure the bridal prep space has lots of windows for beautiful natural light! The makeup artist can do their best work with proper lighting, and your photos will look exponentially better with a light and airy environment. We recommend getting a hotel suite with lots of windows. You can check out some of our hotel suggestions HERE.

7. Don't change up your hair

Although trying out something different with your hair may sound appealing, I wouldn't change my hair color or cut before the wedding just in case you don't love it. Any major changes should take place at LEAST 6 months prior to the wedding. This way you have time to get as close as possible to the original look you love.

8. Natural Makeup

Having a professional makeup artist is essential to looking your best on the wedding day. While you will likely be wearing more makeup than usual, you can still choose a look that is natural and similar to your everyday look. Bonus tip: Ask your makeup artist for a touch up kit.

9. Skip the mascara and try lash extensions

A few months prior to the wedding, take some lash extensions for a test drive. I personally have lash extensions and LOVE them. I no longer have to wear eyeliner or mascara and don't have to worry about swimming, sweating or tears making my makeup run. They are perfect for brides that may shed a few tears on their big day.

10. Don't get your manicure too early

I would plan to get your nails done one or two days prior to the wedding, you don't want to risk chipping that beautiful manicure and pedicure. Also consider buying the shade you will be wearing for last minute touch ups.
